Purpose: This class is designed for state employees who use Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) data for 1099 reporting. The training will familiarize state employees with detailed steps for procedures that FPP E.001, 1099 Reporting calls for, as well as the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) screens and fields you will work with. When you are finished, you should be able to work from the instructions in this training to extract 1099 data from USAS.
Description:   Participants will be able to:
  • Understand the difference between a 1099 and W-2
  • Understand the 1099 timeline for successful submission
  • Request and adjust USAS Data and Data Set Report
  • Identify Overrides, Warnings and Errors
  • Identify 1099 MISC and 1099 INT Comptroller Object Codes (COBJ's) and Transaction Codes (T-Codes)

Note: This course is not designed to dictate reportable payments. Each agency is responsible for the accuracy of its own reportable vendor payment. The course will discuss policy, USAS system features and reports for consolidating agency reportable vendor payments.
