Description


Person responsible for a quarry or pit must obtain a safety certificate on a form prescribed by department and submit notice of cessation of active pit operations. The following are the maximum fees allowed:

  • Application fee, $500.
  • Certificate transfer, $250.
  • Notice of cessation processing, $500.

Civil penalties between $500 and $5,000 per violation may be assessed (collected under Revenue Object 3717).

Recoveries for amounts incurred in corrective actions, court costs and attorney's fees also authorized.
