A fee of $60 ($100 for out-of-state applicants) is collected for the issuance of each marriage license by the county clerk or county recorder. $30 is remitted to the state and includes $20 deposited to GR Account 5085 and $10 to General Revenue (see note below).

A declaration of an informal marriage license is $25. Of this amount, $12.50 is retained locally and $12.50 is remitted to the state.

S.B. 24, 88th Leg., R.S. transferred the Child Abuse Neglect and Prevention Program to the Heath and Human Services Commission (529) from the Department of Family and Protective Services (530) effective Sept. 1, 2024.
