A person who fails to appear for a complaint or citation for an offense under § 706.002(a), Transportation Code, shall be required to pay an administrative fee of $30 for each complaint or citation reported under this chapter, unless acquitted. A person who fails to pay or satisfy a judgment ordering payment of a fine, shall pay an administrative fee of $30. The custodian of the municipal or county treasury may deposit fees collected under this article in an interest-bearing account. The custodian shall remit $20 of each fee collected to the Comptroller and retain $10 of each fee for deposit to the credit of the municipal or county general fund. Of each $20 received by the Comptroller, the Comptroller shall deposit $10 to the credit of the Department of Public Safety for implementation of denial or renewal of license for failure to appear.

The last day of the month following each calendar quarter.
