To record compensation payments made by the Comptroller's Office and authorized by the Crime Victims Compensation Act to victims of crimes previously not located by local departments within five (5) years after the court has ordered restitution.

RESTRICTED: This code may be used only by the Comptroller -- State Fiscal, Agency 902.

Restitution payments from an offender that were originally received by a department of local government after a good faith effort was made to locate the victim for payment. If after five (5) years, a department has sent notice to the victim's last known address, payments are deposited to GR Account Fund 0494 -- Compensation to Victims of Crime Auxiliary administered by the Comptroller's -- Fiscal, Agency 902. Upon location of a witness and subsequent application for a claim, payments are made.

These restitution payments to victims are not to be confused with payments from Fund 0469 -- Compensation to Victims of Crime.

This code does NOT include:

• Compensation for Crime Victims (7234)
• Crime Victim Expenses (7236)
