Description


To record payment for consulting services for information technology (computer) services which do not require pre-payment approval by the Office of Governor pursuant to Subchapter B, Chapter 2254, TEX. GOV'T CODE. These services include the study of existing or proposed information technology (computer) operations or projects, or advising an agency with regard to an information technology (computer) operation or project. The consulting services may or may not include deliverables such as reports, analyses, project plans, project management, or feasibility studies, depending on terms of the consulting services contract, and may include creation, design, or development of a computer or information technology project.

Expenditure code 7242 includes, but is NOT limited to:

  • Computer Consulting
  • Consultant Services (computer)
  • Professional Services (computer consultant)

This code does NOT include:

  • Purchase of software (7380) or (7387)
  • Software maintenance (7262)
  • Information Technology Services (7275)
