Purpose

Established outside the treasury as a trust fund with the comptroller and administered by the board, as trustee, to maintain and preserve the Capitol, General Land Office Building, their contents and grounds. Consists of legislative transfers, interest earned and transfers from the Capitol Fund account. Transfers from the Capitol Fund accounts may not include money donated to the board, derived from a security or thing of value donated to the board, or earned as interest or other income on a donation. The transfer must leave sufficient money in the account of the Capitol Fund to accomplish the purposes for which that account was created. Money may be transferred from the Capital Renewal Trust Fund fund to any account in the Capitol fund to be used for the same purposes as the Capital Renewal Trust Fund.
