Purpose

To hold for expenditure money transferred from Available School Fund (0002) to provide free textbooks for use of children attending the public free schools. Also to purchase technological equipment necessary for use of electronic textbooks or instructional material or any textbook or material approved by the State Board of Education.  Expanded to include funding for the instructional materials allotment, pay expenses related to purchase instructional materials, purchases or licensing of open-source instruction materials, fund technology lending grant program and other items.
