Purpose
Established outside the General Revenue Fund to receive Texas' share of federal money received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Used for purposes identified in the Act to stimulate the economy including aid for unemployment, welfare, education, health and infrastructure.
Notes
Originally created by the Comptroller as a fund outside of General Revenue after the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on 2-19-09. Fund was changed to a General Revenue Account on 4-21-09. The 81st Leg., R.S. passed H.B. 4583 (Funds Consolidation Bill) on 6-19-09, which created the fund as a special fund outside of the General Revenue Fund.
