Purpose

To hold for expenditure money transferred from Available School Fund (0002) to provide free textbooks for use of children attending the public free schools. Used to fund the  Expanded to include funding for the instructional materials allotment to school districts under sec. 31.0211. Other allowable uses include; 

  • Expenses related to purchase instructional materials. 
  • Purchases or licensing of open-source instruction materials.
  • Technology lending grant program.
  • Instructional materials web portal.
  • Inventory software systems for managing and analyzing the effectiveness of instructional materials.
  • Funding to the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Texas School for the Deaf, and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

Depository Interest Retained in appropriated fund.
Disposition of Balance Accumulative. (Any balance reduces amount subsequently to be transferred from Available School Fund 0002.)
