H.B 2202, 83rd Leg., R.S. initially added the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Fund. However, the new fund was not exempted in funds consolidation bill (H.B. 6, 83rd Leg., R.S.) and not created.

S.B. 1512, 84th Leg., R.S. recreated the fund and it was exempted in that session’s funds consolidation bill (H.B. 6, 84th Leg., R.S). Effective 9/1/2017.
