Created in 1988 on adoption of H.J.R. 5 by the voters November 8, 1988 by Texas Constitution art. XVI, § 70 to receive investments from governing boards of permanent school fund, Teacher Retirement System, Employees Retirement System, and any other pension system in their sole discretion. Fund was used to pay expenses of the fund based on an assessment on investor contributions. Fund was invested and all investments were directly related to the creation, retention, or expansion of employment opportunity and economic growth in Texas. Quarterly income realized on investments was distributed to each of the investing funds or systems. The fund was held outside the treasury. Expired Sept. 1, 2008.
