Purpose

If a site is selected in this state, to retain a portion of state and local sales, hotel and mixed beverage taxes in an amount of estimated incremental increases for a one-year period directly attributable, as determined by the comptroller, to the presentation of an event and related events. Event means a Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four tournament, NBA, National Hockey League or Major League Baseball All-Star Game, NCAA Bowl Championship Series game, World Cup Soccer game, World Games, a national collegiate championship of an amateur sport recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee, an Olympic activity or feeder program sanctioned by the U. S. Olympic Committee's Community Olympic Development Program, the Breeders' Cup World Championships, a Formula One automobile race, the Academy of Country Music Awards, national Cutting Horse Triple Crown or a national political convention of the Republican or Democrat National Committee.  Fund may also receive pledged surcharges and user fee revenue charged in connection with the event by the local government. Used to fulfill joint obligations of the state and endorsing municipality or county to a site selection organization under an event support contract.
