Purpose
To receive state appropriations, money acquired from other governmental or private sources, money paid under prepaid tuition contracts and income from investment of deposits. The fund may be used only to pay costs of program administration and operations, make payments to institutions of higher education or private or independent institutions, make refunds under prepaid tuition contracts and award scholarships as prescribed by law. The Texas College Savings Plan Account is within the fund and is financed by administration fees and service charges. Savings trust accounts are created for each individual owner who opens an account.
