Created 1992 under Insurance Code art. 5.76-5 sec. 10. Deposit maintenance tax surcharge assessed against insurance companies writing workers' compensation insurance. Amounts deposited temporarily in trust and ultimately cleared to Safekeeping Trust Company as provided in the bond resolution. Surcharges will be used to pay all debt service on revenue bonds issued pursuant to article 5.76-3 § 3, Insurance Code. Deposited to Texas Mutual Insurance Corporation outside the Comptroller -- Treasury upon payment of debt service as directed by representatives of Texas Mutual Insurance Corporation. Name changed from Texas Workers' Compensation Insurance Fund by H.B. 3458, 77th Leg., R.S. Bonds were fully paid Dec. 1, 2004. Bond program repealed by H.B. 2017, 79th Leg., R.S. effective 2007.
