Created in 1989 by TEX. LAB. CODE ANN. sec. 61.063 to hold wages or penalties assessed by the Commission if the party required to pay said wages or penalties files a petition for judicial review in a court of competent jurisdiction contesting the final order. The amounts assessed by the commission are forwarded for deposit in escrow in an interest-bearing account. If, after judicial review, it is determined that some or all of the wages are not owed, or the penalty is reduced or not assessed, the Commission shall remit the appropriate amount to the party assessed the wage payment or the penalty, plus the interest accrued on the escrowed amount. Fund was closed and combined with Texas Workforce Commission Wage Determination Trust Fund (Fund 0894) at the request of Texas Workforce Commission, Agency 320. Balance transferred to Fund 0894 and any future activity should be processed through Fund 0894.
