Purpose

To provide a pension system and death and disability benefits for persons performing fire, rescue or emergency medical services who serve without monetary remuneration. In making investments, the commissioner and board of trustees shall exercise the judgment and care that persons of ordinary prudence, discretion, and intelligence exercise.
