Purpose
Created to receive community and parole supervision and probation fees collected under Art. 42.12 § 19(e) Code of Criminal Procedures and § 508.189 Government Code and appropriated to the OAG to finance Ch. 420 grant programs. (See R/C 3175 Professional Fees [Pardons and Paroles].)
Effective 1-1-08, will receive additional fees from the first $25 million collected from sexually oriented businesses in an amount equal to a percent deposited under § 47.054 Business and Commerce Code. (See R/C 3175 Professional Fees [Sexually Oriented Businesses].)
*Also effective 1-1-08, the OAG has expanded uses from the account for additional programs. Money may also be appropriated for DSHS, UT Austin, Texas State University, Governorks Office, DPS, Comptroller Judiciary, TDCJ, Youth Commission, Comptroller and Supreme Court for uses specified in law.
**Collection of "Speak up, Speak out" specialty plates to support victims of sexual assault. $22 of $30 fee deposited to account and remainder to State Highway Fund (0006).
