Created September 1, 1997 by H.B. 2519, 75th Leg., R.S. in Transp. Code sec. 504.606 in General Revenue for receipt of license plate fees. Of the $30 amount, $22 was deposited to the account and the remainder used for administration. used only by Parks and Wildlife Department to support activities of a designated nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is improvement and preservation of Big Bend National Park. Creation of the account was finally authorized by H.B. 2948, 75th Leg., R.S. (Formerly § 502.295, amended by H.B. 2971, 78th Leg., R.S.). Administered by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
H.B. 7, 83rd Leg., R.S. abolished General Revenue-dedicated specialty license plate accounts created under Transportation Code, Subchapter G and changed deposit of license plate revenue to the License Plate Trust Fund (0802). Revenue deposit changed 09/01/2013 and account abolished 09/30/2013.
