Created to receive legislative appropriations, gifts, grants and donations. Used to provide grants to public junior colleges, independent and charter school districts, public technical institutes, juvenile boards, juvenile probation departments, and the department of Juvenile Justice under the Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program.

Fund was created under Government Code Subchapter O, Ch. 403 and Ch. 134 of the Education Code. H.B. 437, 83rd Leg., R.S. repealed Government Code Subchapter O and removed nonprofits as eligible entities for grants.

H.B. 7, 83rd Leg., R.S. requires interest be deposited to General Revenue (0001).

S.B. 1351 and H.B. 3062, 84th Leg., R.S. moved program and account from Office of the Comptroller (902) to Texas Workforce Commission.
