The account replaces 0145 GR Account - Oil-Field Cleanup abolished on 9/28/11. Any remaining balance in 0145 is to be transferred to the new account on that date.

H.B. 7, 83rd Leg., R.S. added fees under Natural Resources Code 91.0115 and alternative fuel program use and required interest be deposited to General Revenue (0001).

H.B. 7, 84th Leg., R.S. changed from 2/3 to entire fee amount collected under 81.0521 and added fee items 23 and 24.

S.B. 1422, 85th Leg., R.S. added royalty amounts collected under sec. 81.021 (item 25).

H.B. 1818, 85th Leg., R.S. added new fees collected under 81.071 (item 26) and removed alternative fuel programs use.

Previously, oil-field cleanup regulatory fees on oil and gas revenue to the account were capped at $20 million and fees were reinstated when the account fell below $10 million. H.B. 3309, 83rd, R.S., increased maximum cap from $20 million to $30 million and minimum from $10 million to $25 million. The cap and minimum were repealed by H.B. 2675, 86th Leg., R.S.
