Revenue Object 3562 – Health Related Professional Fees – Optometry

Fees charged a person practicing optometry established by Board, including exam, re-exam, issue, renewal, duplicate license and other acts or services provided by Board. Board may not set fee for less than the amount of that fee on September 1, 1993. Late, fee: 90 days or less -- renewal fee plus 1/2 license exam fee plus additional fee required; 91 days - 1 year -- renewal fee plus license exam fee plus additional fee required. Over 1 year, may not renew, must reapply.

Initial license or registration fee increased by $5 and renewal by $1, effective September 1, 2003.

A license holder on retired status must pay a fee equal to the renewal fee for a license on the inactive status and may apply for reinstatement by paying the renewal fee.

License renewable annually on or before January 1. Board may establish staggered renewal.

Originally deposited to the Optometry Fund Account (0034), abolished August 31, 1995 per § 403.094 Government Code. 

Rates amended by S.B. 109, 67th Leg., R.S., effective 8-31-81.

H.B. 11, 72nd Leg., 1st C.S.added  $200 increase in license and renewal fees allocated, 25% to Foundation School Account (0193) and 75% to General Revenue Fund. Dedication abolished August 31, 1995 per § 403.094 Government Code.
