Revenue Object 3014 – Motor Vehicle Registration Fees – Specialty License Plates -- Certain Farm Vehicles and Drilling and Construction Equipment

Specialty plates for:

• machinery used solely for drilling water wells;
• construction machinery not designed to transport persons or property on a public highway;
• farm trailers and semi-trailers with gross weight of more than 4,000 lbs. but NMT 34,000 lbs., used solely to transport seasonally harvested agricultural products or livestock from place of production to place of process, market or storage, or farm supplies from loading site to farm;
• trailers and semi-trailers owned by cotton gins used solely to transport agricultural products without charge from place of production to place of processing, market or storage;
• trailers used solely to transport fertilizer or cotton seed without charge from supply or storage site to farm or processing site.

Additional fee of $5 per year for distinguishing plate.

H.B 2202, 83rd Leg., R.S. changed deposit from State Highway Fund (0006) to new Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Fund. New fund was not exempted in funds consolidation bill (H.B. 6) and not created. Therefore, revenue amounts were deposited to General Revenue (0001).

S.B. 1512, 84th Leg., R.S. recreated the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Fund and it was exempted by H.B. 6, 84th Leg., R.S. Deposit changed from General Revenue to Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Fund (0010). Effective 9/1/16.
