Revenue Object 3562 – Health Related Professional Fees – Dental

Applicant fees for exam for license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene and for registration of dental laboratories. Fees are set by Board to produce sufficient revenue to cover cost of administration.

12. Military Limited Volunteer License

Renewal fees: 90 days or less - 1 1/2 times the normal renewal fee. More than 90 days but less than 1 year - 2 times the normal renewal fee. One year or more - may not renew and must reapply.
 
Administrative penalties up to $5,000 for each violation. Administrative penalties not involving direct patient care up to $1,000 per violation, up to $3,000 in a calendar year (collected under Revenue Object 3770).
  
Initial licenses or registration fee were increased by $5 and renewal by $1, effective 9/1/2003 to fund the Office of Patient Protection within the Health Professions Council (364) 

The board collects a $55 surcharge on license issuance and renewal.

Two or more years as determined by the board. Two years for dental assistants and hygienists.

Originally deposited to the Dental Registration Fund Account (0086), abolished 8-31-95 per § 403.094, Government Code.

Rates amended by S.B. 335, 67th Leg., R.S., effective 9-1-81.

Administrative penalty added by H.B. 472, 69th Leg., R.S., effective 9-1-85 and originally set at $2,500.

(1), (2), (3) Amended by H.B. 11, 72nd Leg., 1st C.S., added $200 increase to fees for dentists. Originally the $200 increase was distributed, 25% to Foundation School Account (0193) and 75% to General Revenue Fund. Dedication abolished 8-31-95 per § 403.094, Government Code.

S.B. 18, 74th Leg., R.S. required fees be set no higher than 9-1-1993 level. S.B. 877, 75th Leg., R.S. removed this restriction.

Re-codified by H.B. 3155, 76th Leg., R.S. and increased administrative penalty to $5,000.
