Description

A person may not operate as a warrantor or represent to the public the person is a warrantor unless registered with the department. Each registered warrantor shall pay an annual registration fee as set by the commission to cover costs of administration. The department shall develop a tiered fee structure assessing fees based on number of vehicle protection products sold in the state in the 12 months preceding date of registration. Administrative penalties up to $5,000 per day (collected under Revenue Object 3770). Civil penalties up to $1,000 for each violation or $50,000 for all similar violations (collected under Revenue Object 3717).
