Description

A $40 filing fee collected by the court in each civil case to be used for judiciary support.

County judge entitled to annual salary supplement under § 26.006 shall collect a $40 filing fee in each civil case. 

Now collected under 3711 - Judicial Fees - Judiciary Support.

Due Date

At the same time as other fines and court costs. Custodian of the municipal or county treasury is required to remit not later than the last day of the month following each calendar quarter.

Effective 01/01/2020, S.B. 346, 86th Leg., R.S. repealed the $15 additional court costs.

S.B. 41, 87th Leg., R.S. abolished the $40 fees and added a $137 state civil fee. This new fee is collected under 3711 - Judicial Fees - Judiciary Support. S.B. 41 repealed Government Code Ch. 101, and index of existing court costs and fees.
