Description

State lands: Fee charged on all mineral leases and land sales. Each bidder submits special sale fee, but only fee submitted by the highest bidder is retained by the State. Fee is 1.5% of each bid. 

Permanent School Fund lands: Each bid on land sales and mineral leases for sale is subject to the payment of a special fee equal to 1 1/2% of the bid or sale amount.

Permanent University Fund lands: Each bid on an oil and gas lease offered for sale is also subject to the payment of a special fee equal to 1% of the total bonus whether stipulated or bid. 

Riverbeds and channels: Each bid on land sales is subject to the payment of a special fee equal to 1 1/2% of the bid or sale amount.

As of 9/17/09, fees relative to Permanent University Fund land are retained by University of Texas System in local funds. 

As of 6/7/11, General Land Office, General Counsel legal opinion found fees and revenues from sale of Permanent School Fund land and mineral leases should be deposited to the Permanent School Fund (0044).
