Description

Each application for initial, renewal or revision of a surface mining permit for coal, lignite, iron, iron ore and gravel shall be accompanied by application fee as set by the Commission in accordance with a published fee schedule. Initial application fee shall be based on actual or anticipated cost of reviewing the application, at least $5,000. The renewal fee must be at least $3,000 and revision fee at least $500. In addition to application fees, each permittee must pay an annual fee for each acre on which the permittee actually conducted operations for the removal of coal during the year, a fee for each acre of land in the bonded permit area on Dec. 31 of the year and a fee for the permit if in effect on Dec. 31 of the year.

Due Date

Permit valid for term of not more than 5 years. Annual fee for coal removal operations due not later than March 15 of year following removal operations. Other annual fees as determined by Commission.
