Description
The following are fees charged for copying or filing records by state agencies whose charges are not covered by other special legislative authority
- Copies of any paper, document, or record in the English: $1.50 per page.
- Copies of any paper, document, or record in a language other than English: $2.00 per page.
- Translated copy of any paper, document, or record: 3 cents per word with minimum charge of $5.00.
- Each copy of any plot or map: actual cost
- Search of records when the state or any county has no interest: $1.00 for each 1/2 hour.
- Each sealed certificate attached to a copy: $1.00.
- Online access fees for public information: as specified.
May be used to deposit fees derived by access to electronic information systems in state computer record books for public access.
In addition, H.B. 1009, 73rd Leg., R.S. increased public record copying fees by 15% and copying of mailing lists by 25%. These increases were in effect until an agencies adopted rules under Government Code § 552.261 (not applicable to information in driver's license records of Department of Public Safety).
