S.B. 441, 67th Leg., R.S. moved administration of the Polygraph Examiners Board, from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service to the Texas Department of Public Safety, effective September 1, 1981.
The 75th Legislature increased fees above statutory amounts in order to cover costs of administration.

S.B. 1005, 81st Leg., R.S. abolished the Polygraph Examiners Board and moved the program from the Texas Department of Public Safety to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The bill abolished statutory fees (Occupations Code Sec. 1703.102 and 1703.253), including late fees. Maximum allowable fee amounts were set in the 81st General Appropriations Act. Subsequent General Appropriations Act do not include these fee limits.
