Description
The department collects fees for the following fees for hemp growers:
- An application fee for an initial license up to $100.
- A license renewal fee up to $100.
- A participation fee for each location where hemp is cultivated or handled up to $100.
- A site modification fee for each change to location up to $500.
- A collection and testing fee for each preharvest test or postharvest test performed by the department up to $300.
The department shall register independent testing labs and create a registry. The department may charge a registration fee to cover administration costs.
Violations of regulations regarding hemp transport are punishable by a civil penalty of up to $500 per violation. Collected under Revenue Code 3717 by the Department of Public Safety and deposited to General Revenue Fund 0001 (Agriculture Code sec. 122.356).
