Description

Persons convicted of certain offenses under the Penal Code pay in addition to all other costs, court costs for special services as follows:

  • A defendant convicted of a felony -- $185.
  • A defendant convicted of a class A or B misdemeanor -- $147.
  • Conviction of a nonjailable misdemeanor -- $62.

GR Account Emergency Radio Infrastructure receives 3.6913% of total fees collected.

Due Date

Upon conviction at the same time as other fines and court costs.

Effective 01/01/2020, S.B. 346, 86th Leg., R.S. increased court costs for felonies from $133 to $185, Class A or B misdemeanor from $83 to $147 and nonjailable misdemeanors from $40 to $62. S.B. 346 changed percentage from 5.5904% to 3.6913%.
