Description


Sale of gold and silver lone star medallions commemorating the Texas Sesquicentennial in gold one, one-half, one-quarter, and one-tenth of an ounce weights and a one-ounce silver lone star medallion. Sale prices calculated to recover at least the costs of making and selling the medals, in no event less than the cost of production plus the cost of the gold and the intrinsic value.

The State Preservation Board charged a fee for the right to operate a booth in the state Capitol during 1986, 1987 and 1988 for purposes of selling sesquicentennial commemorative products and Texas souvenirs (H.B. 2096, 69th Leg., R.S., amended by H.B. 43, 69th Leg., 3rd C.S.).

The Board also selected vendors to sell Texas souvenirs during 1986, 1987 and 1988 at tourist information bureaus.

Fees and royalties were charged to vendors and suppliers.

Program ended. Inactivated December 2017.
