Notes

Texas Juneteenth specialty license plates were initially created in 2003 by H.B. 2971, 78th Leg. under sec. 504.649. Of the $30 fee collected, $8 was for administrative cost and the remainder was to be deposited to a special account in the treasury used only the Texas Emancipation Juneteenth Cultural and Historical Commission for grants to Juneteenth USA.  The account was never created and the plates were repealed by H.B. 2357, 82nd Leg., R.S. effective 1/1/12.

Current plates added by H.B. 3610, 84th Leg., R.S.

S.B. 1512, 84th Leg., R.S. recreated the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Fund and it was exempted by H.B. 6, 84th Leg., R.S. Effective 9/1/16.
