Description


A person may not conduct a crematory business in this state unless the owner or operator registers with the commission and pays the fees. The commission by rule shall establish fees in amounts reasonable and necessary to cover administrative costs.

To renew a crematory establishment license, a report must be filed with the renewal fee. A late fee (set by the commission) shall be imposed if the report is not filed.

Initial licenses fee was increased by $5 and renewal by $1, effective 9/1/2003 to fund the Office of Patient Protection within the Health Professions Council (364).



Due Date


Annually. The commission may adopt a staggered renewal system.



Notes


This does not apply to perpetual care cemeteries regulated under chapter 712, Texas Health and Safety Code.
