A fee is charged for original registration and renewal of registration required of all lobbyists. Registration expires at midnight, December 31, of each year. Fees are charged as follows:

• $75 for any person required to register solely because the person is required to register under sec. 305.0041,
• $150 for a registrant employed by an organization exempt from federal income tax under Sections 501 (c)(3,4) IRS Code of 1986 or
• $750 for any other registrant.

Initially deposited to the Lobbyist Registration Fund (0592) until deposit changed to the State Ethics Fund Account (0104) by S.B. 1, 72nd Leg., R.S. State Ethics Fund Account was abolished August 31, 1995 per 403.094, Government Code.

H.B. 1606, 78th Leg., R.S. required registration fees for calendar years 2004 and 2005 be increased by an amount necessary to develop and implement an electronic filing system. This expired January 1, 2006.

S.B. 1863, 79th Leg., R.S. increased fee for "any other registrant" from $300 to $500.
