Each operator conducting the surface mining of uranium must obtain a permit. Application and renewal fees are determined by the Commission but may not exceed $400. After approval but prior to permit issue a fee of $10 per acre of the permit area must be paid.
A person may not conduct exploration activity unless they hold an exploration permit. The Commission may impose an application fee to recover administrative costs.
Permit valid for term of not more than 10 years.
