Created 2009 by H.B. 1881, 81st Leg., R.S. under Agriculture Code 12.044. An owner required to submit a duplicate equine breeding report shall pay a fee of up to $30 per mare bred, as determined by the department. Money used to provide grants to owners of eligible foals participating in horse events in this state. Not more than 5% may be used for administration. S.B. 928, 84th Leg., R.S. repealed the program and fee and required remaining fees be distributed to breeder's associations.
