Description


The board sets and collects fees in amounts necessary to cover the costs of licensing physician assistants. These include application fees, fees for licensing and renewals, and temporary licenses. For license expired 90 days or less, the renewal fee is 1 1/2 times the normal renewal fee. For expired more than 90 days but less than 1 year it is 2 times renewal fee.

Initial licenses fee was increased by $5 and renewal by $1, effective 9/1/2003 to fund the Office of Patient Protection within the Health Professions Council (364).

Physician assistant fees were included under the “3560 – Medical Examination and Registration – Doctors” subtitle until FY2016.

Previous to H.B. 2498, 73rd Leg., R.S., fees were for physicians that supervised physician assistants. H.B. 2498 changed to fee charged to physician assistants.
