A person may not practice as a surgical assistant unless licensed. The medical board shall set fees in amounts reasonable and necessary for administration of the program. If the license has been expired for 90 days or less, the renewal fee is 1 1/2 times the standard renewal fee. For licenses expired 90 days to one year, the fee is two times the standard renewal fee. Licenses expired over 1 year must reapply.
Initial licenses fee was increased by $5 and renewal by $1, effective 9/1/2003 to fund the Office of Patient Protection within the Health Professions Council (364).
2 years from date of issue, board may adopt staggered renewal system.
