Description


Persons convicted of certain offenses under the Penal Code pay in addition to all other costs, court costs for special services as follows:

  • A defendant convicted of a felony -- $133.
  • A defendant convicted of a class A or B misdemeanor -- $83.
  • Conviction of a nonjailable misdemeanor -- $40.

General Revenue received 0.0088% of total fees collected.



Due Date


Upon conviction at the same time as other fines and costs.

Deposited by Comptroller when received from custodian of municipal or county treasury who is required to remit not later than the last day of the month following each calendar quarter.

Previously deposited to GR Account 5011 Abused Children's Counseling. Account was repealed by H.B. 2272, 75th Leg., R.S. Fee deposited to unappropriated General Revenue.

Title changed per H.B. 2424, 78th Leg., R.S.

Government Code 102.022 repealed by H.B. 3167, 80th Leg., R.S. and S.B. 1969, 81st Leg., R.S.
