Description
Fees collected from businesses and non-profit entities for advertisements placed on motorist information logo signs, major shopping area guide signs, or tourist-oriented directional signs. These sign programs are operated by a vendor under contract to the department as required by Transportation Code Chapter 391.The contractor collects fees from businesses for advertisements on the signs. For logo signs and major shopping area guide signs, the department receives at least 10 percent of the fees collected by the contractor. For tourist-oriented directional signs, the department receives the greater of 10 percent of the fees collected or an amount sufficient to recover administrative costs.
Due Date
Fees paid to the department by the contractor are due on a monthly basis.
