Description
All structures that are constructed, altered, remodeled, enlarged or repaired or to which additions are made on or after 1-1-88, must be inspected or approved by the department to be considered insurable property for windstorm and hail insurance from the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. The department shall charge a reasonable fee for each inspection of each structure in an amount set by the commissioner.
Other fees set and charged by the department include reasonable fees providing for building specifications and inspection standards to the public, issuance of certificates of compliance and a fee for filing of applications and determining the qualifications of persons appointed as qualified inspectors.
