Student in the School of Nursing
Program leading to nursing degree or allied health profession is same as for students with the same residency registered at a general academic teaching institution.
Texas State Technical Institute
Resident Students -- the greater of $50 or amount set by the board at not less than $16 per semester credit hour.
Non-resident students -- amount set by the board at not less than $80 per semester credit hour.
Biomedical Research Scholarship Student
Student is entitled to pay fees and charges required of Texas resident without regard to the length of time the student has resided in Texas.

Although existing statutory tuition amounts for resident students did not change, H.B. 3015, 78th Leg., R.S., amended § 54.0513, Education Code to allow governing boards of institutions to charge any student an amount of board designated tuition considered necessary for the effective operation of the institution. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will continue to set non-resident tuition rates.
Previously this revenue code was used for the set aside of 2% of tuition charges for the repayment or cancellation of student loans of physicians serving in designated state agencies or economically depressed areas of the state. These amounts were deposited to the GR Account - Medical School Tuition Set Aside (0542). The deposit was changed to revenue code 3692 effective 9/01/2003.
