Created in 1979 by H.B. 2083, 66th Leg. under TEX. GOV'T CODE ANN. §§ 825.406, 825.407 to receive reimbursement for State employee retirement contributions matched by the Teacher Retirement System. The contributions being reimbursed had been paid by TRS from state funds. This reimbursement included federal or other funds on deposit in the State Treasury. The employing agency used Expenditure Code 7909, "Teacher Retirement Reimbursement," to forward these funds to the Teacher Retirement System.
