Created August 28, 1995 by H.B. 867, 74th Leg., R.S. in TEX. HEALTH & SAFETY CODE ANN. § 242.221 for an automated patient care and reimbursement system for providing reimbursements to nursing homes under the state Medicaid program. The Department was linked electronically with nursing homes making claims for reimbursement. The Department shall charge a fee in an amount necessary to cover manual processing costs to nursing homes that do not make their claims electronically. Administered by Texas Department of Human Services, Agency 324 (formerly the Texas Department of Health, Agency 501). Inactivated 9-1-04 after program fully automated.
