Description


The state attorney shall transfer to the attorney general all income from the sale of tangible property the value of which is increased by the notoriety gained from the conviction of an offense by the person accused or convicted of the crime. The state attorney shall determine the fair market value of property that is substantially similar to the property sold but that has not been increased in value by notoriety and deduct the amount from sale proceeds. Income is transferred to the Attorney General and the remainder to the property owner. The attorney general shall hold the money in an escrow account and shall transfer the money not ordered paid to a victim in satisfaction of a judgment to the compensation to victims of crime account on the fifth anniversary of the date the escrow account was established.
