Created in 1856 by TEX. CONST. art. VII, § 9 and TEX. GOV'T CODE ANN. § 404.026 to provide a perpetual endowment for the support, maintenance, and improvement of an institute for the deaf and dumb.

The fund was invested but expendable.

Income from investments was deposited to the Available Deaf and Dumb Institute Fund (0016).

Repealed effective 11-6-02 upon passage of H.J.R. 75, 77th Leg., R. S., by the voters.
