Created in 1856 by TEX. CONST. art. VII, § 9 and TEX. GOV'T CODE ANN. § 404.026 to provide a perpetual endowment for the support, maintenance, and operation of asylums.

The fund was available for invested but not expended. Income from investments was deposited to the Available Lunatic Asylum Fund (0015).

Repealed effective 11-6-02 upon passage of H.J.R. 75, 77th Leg., R. S., by the voters.
