Purpose
A fund in the state treasury outside the general revenue fund. May be administered and used, without further appropriation, by the Texas Water Development Board to provide financing for a drainage, flood mitigation, or flood control project. Uses include planning and design activities, obtaining regulatory approval to provide nonstructural and structural flood mitigation and drainage, and construction of flood mitigation and drainage infrastructure.
Money in the fund may be used to make grants or loans to eligible political subdivisions. The board may use the infrastructure fund only to provide financing for flood projects included in the state flood plan.
